Little Civic

(pic from automotive.com)

Guess what, everybody! We bought a car last night! :) A little, green civic. When I told my mom it was green, she was like, "Of course!" but we actually haven't looked at many green cars, to be honest. We saw one other green civic, but it was manual. That was it as far as green cars go.

The guy that sold it to us was so nice! He wasn't like some of the stupid used car salesmen who've tried to sell us cars. (Note: I don't think all used car salesmen are stupid. Just a couple of the ones we've met on this journey. We've met some really good guys too.)

And do you know what's awesome about this car? (Besides the fact that it has radio and air conditioning.) It has power everything! So many of the cars we looked at in our price range had power nothing. lol. And while I could deal with that (in Jeff's old car, we had to crank the windows and open all the locks by hand) it's so nice to have that one little luxury. It even has keyless entry! I don't think any of the other cars we looked at had that. Plus it has tinted windows and only a couple little scratches.

It was such a good feeling to close all the car websites on our computer. :) The search is over! Hooray! And now we can drive to Salt Lake without having to borrow my parents' car! And we can drive to Moab and California and all those places.

It's funny. I totally didn't think we were buying a car last night when we went to go look at that place. I thought it was just one more test drive to decide we didn't really like it and the search would continue. Jeff wanted a Corolla from another dealership that was pretty much the same as the Civic, a little cheaper and a different color and manual, but it had all the same features. The manual part was what stopped me from liking it. lol. And later we found out from Jeff's dad that it probably had something wrong with it, so it would have ended up being about the same price as the Civic.

Jeff did make me promise to learn to drive stick the next time we travel to California. And he told his dad, so I have two people holding me to that promise. lol. So I guess I'm learning to drive manual! I just didn't want to learn on the car I bought... And didn't want to learn in the snow. :P

Anyway, I'm so happy we finally have a car that runs! I couldn't help giggling all the way home, I was so excited. No more crazy explosions! No more doing without a sun visor in the driver seat! No more keeping one foot on the gas at all times just to make sure it doesn't die! :) I listened to the radio on the way home. It was great. lol. And I almost turned on the air conditioning, just because I could. Heehee! :)
