Well... Some good news! We turned in an application to get an apartment today! :) Now the rental company just has to call all our references. We haven't signed a contract yet, but the girl who lived in the apartment said that we were the first people to look at it (and on the application, it says you have to look at the apartment before you turn in an application). So that's positive.
Oh, and this was one of the complexes that looks like Moon Apartments. At least on the outside. The kitchen also looks really similar, but the current tenant said that the company might replace the stove for us. Can you imagine? A new stove! :) It would be a cheap one, but new! That would be so happy.
The living room was pretty big, although everything looks big compared to our living room now. :) And the carpet was new. Plus there were two rooms (yay!) and room for the table in the kitchen (yay!) and a washer and dryer hookup in the bathroom. I thought that was a little strange, but upon thinking about it, I think I'm going to like it. One less step to doing laundry, right? :) The bathroom was pretty small with the washer and dryer, but it was a lot cleaner than the bathrooms at Moon with a lot of cupboards.
I think we'll like it there. :) The neighborhood seems pretty quiet. The houses around it are pretty well-kept, which is usually a good sign. And the houses are the old, cute kind that I love. :) It's only a couple blocks from the library and closer to my work, which I will like. It will also be good, because of our next bit of good news...
Jeff got an internship!!! Yay! And it pays really well and he works 30 hours per week (for now)! It's not in the same area he'd like to work after he graduates, but I think it will be good for us. He has to be at work at 8 a.m., I think, so if I have to I can walk to work or home in not very much time. He doesn't start until Monday, so he has a whole week to get started with cleaning and stuff in preparation for moving in early June (if we get the contract).
Good day at the Hawks house. :)
