One Week Down

Well, we've been in our new apartment for a week now! And for the most part it's been awesome. We've had so much help from friends and family, which has made this whole moving thing a lot easier. I'm already not looking forward to moving again. lol.

Friday Jeff got home from work early and almost entirely cleared out the living room of things that weren't supposed to be there. :) It's amazing. Thursday my mom and I are going to tackle making a cover for our couch. (I found a really pretty fabric that I'm really excited about!) Hannah came over Thursday and helped me get the kitchen put together. Now all we have left is the second bedroom (soon to be my CRAFT ROOM!) and a little bit in our bedroom and bathroom.

Friday night Jeff and I went to the Scottish Festival. Sigh...... Time to go back, pretty sure. There weren't as many clans or vendors this year, which was a little sad, but I loved watching the Irish dancers and hearing the bagpipes echo through the park. Really, there's nothing like the sound of bagpipes in person. Recordings just don't do them justice. When you're listening to bagpipes live, you don't just hear them, you feel them. It's amazing. I really didn't want to leave the festival, but it was getting cold and as good a sport as Jeff was, I could tell he wasn't quite as hooked as I was. ;) That's okay. Someday I'll take him there and then he'll understand. :)

This week has mostly been a jumble of unpacking, organizing and watching the NBA conference finals. Luckily Euro 2012 just started, so we'll have something else to throw in the mix. Ireland's playing right now and not doing well... Come on, Ireland!

Yesterday Jeff, Nick and Gary played in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. It was pretty fun to watch, but really hot. They played outside on asphalt, which I think made it a little hotter. They did pretty well. And I got to take pictures and play with babies. :)

Hopefully life starts getting back to normal soon. And hopefully this place starts feeling more like our home! It's big and we love it, but it still kind of feels like we're staying in someone else's house.
