Freedom! :)

To begin this post, I would like to express my new-found great respect for my mother who went on bed rest for two entire summers to make sure that my little brothers were not born too early. Being locked in the house all day, every day is one of the worst things ever, especially when all you can do is sit on the couch and watch TV.

Luckily I can stand up, so my choices are standing up or lying on the couch. And hopefully I won't have to be down all summer. Right now I'm actually sitting up, which is a plus. I just can't do it very long because I have to hold myself up with my arms or my legs.

I guess it's nice to be able to spend time with Jeff all day, though. He's loving it, because all he does is read all day. I think he's on his sixth book this week. I'd be happy if I could write all week, but I can't do it for long periods of time because my legs get really tired when I'm sitting and... Have you ever tried writing for more than 10 minutes while standing? It's really not that comfortable. That's what I did Tuesday when I had to finish my paper and my test for my last class...

I can't wait until I can do stuff on my own again! You never realize what a blessing it is to take care of your own basic needs until that's taken away from you..

Yesterday I watched the second season of The West Wing. All. Day. Long. I think I watched eight episodes or something. And while I think that's one of the better TV shows they've come up with in a while, by the end of the day I was thinking, "As much as I like you Josh, Toby, C.J., Sam and Donna, there's a lot more to life than 10-year-old TV shows..." As intelligent as the dialogue in that show is, I was starting to feel my brain cells keeling over.

Today I actually get to get out of the house! Yesterday I walked onto our porch to see what the fire engine and ambulance were doing on our street. They parked right next to our apartment and the firemen got on all their gear and oxygen tanks, but they weren't rushing very much. After a couple minutes of enjoying the breeze and not seeing anything that interesting, I went back inside to The West Wing.

But today, I'm going dress shopping with Lindsay! I'm really excited. But kind of worried, because the last time I rode in a car.....it was not fun. I may have said this a couple days ago, but you never realize how bumpy a road is until you're in pain.

In other news, my herbs are getting so big! I'm so proud of them. :) I actually made something grow! And my mini rose bush is still alive from Valentine's Day! I killed the violets Jeff gave me for my birthday... Oops. My rose bush has a little flower on it right now, and there's another tiny bud waiting to bloom. I'm so excited. :)
