Hey, it's Mr. Dick Clark! What a place you've got here!

Dick Clark died today. :( Sad. Whenever I hear his name I always think of the "American Bandstand" song we danced to in our sixth grade program. Sigh.... Those were the days.

And thinking of that makes me kinda want to go to a 50s party or a big band night or something. (Okay, so I've been wanting to do that for a while...) I even have the perfect dress for it, thanks to my mom. Unfortunately, none of our good friends are really into that kind of stuff. I was slightly tempted to do a 50s party for his birthday, but I guess I'll stick to the Harry Potter theme. (Which I'm really excited for, by the way.)

I know, I know. Harry Potter was so last year and there aren't any new books or movies coming out ever again. For whatever reason I've been on a little Harry Potter kick lately. It's like junior high all over again. Except I wasn't obsessed with Harry Potter for very long in junior high. Not like Lord of the Rings.

Speaking of Harry Potter, I joined Pottermore.com. *hides in shame* I feel like such a little kid for doing so. It's kind of addictive. Luckily you can get through it in a few hours and then you're done. lol. So it hasn't taken up too much of my time. Mostly I kept going on it because, being somewhat of an author myself, I love seeing how authors think when they write. And I love the back stories and reasons for naming characters or places. It's fascinating. I love seeing how the characters evolved during the writing process, not just how they evolve in the story. Because let's face it, few characters end up exactly the same as you imagined them when it comes down to the writing process. And I'm in Ravenclaw and have a laurel wand with unicorn hard that's slightly springy and is nine and three-quarters inches, in case you were wondering. I'm starting to sound the way Jeff sounds when he says he's being "nerdy".....

My other thought was maybe we should wait until we go to California to have the Harry Potter party, because I think Jeff's family would love it more than our friends would. lol. Or we could even just do something with my family, because I think my siblings like Harry Potter.... Sarah does, at least. Or maybe we could do a test run with our friends and do a huge one with Jeff's family.... I don't know. Hm... This is sounding tempting. :)

Jeff graduates tomorrow! Yay! :) Then it's back to school in the fall. lol. While I continue to play breadwinner and breadmaker. (Because let's face it, I don't think Jeff could make bread.)
