Conference Weekend

This weekend was great. :) It started off with playing games and hanging out with friends on Friday night. Then General Conference. Saturday morning was great, because we got up early and Jeff went to clean the Church while I worked out and made the biggest, best breakfast we've ever had together. :) We had bacon, sausage, two kinds of eggs, toast, French toast and smoothies. I think we'll have to make it a Saturday morning session tradition.

I loved Elder Holland's talk. It really hit home, I guess. And it brought a couple ideas for goals to work on the next six months. I'm not exactly sure how to accomplish them yet, but I feel like they're important for me. Maybe Jeff and I can discuss them tonight for FHE.

I fell like there were a lot of tear-jerker stories in conference this time! I got a lump in my throat so many times, especially during President Packer's talk with all the stories about the poor little boys and when Elder Scott talked about his wife.

I love that the recordings of the talks are already online! I've already started listening to them while I work out. I think I'll trade off between listening to conference talks and France Info, because I really need to keep up on my French, too.

Oh, and just for the record, don't go to City Creek during conference weekend. It's a mad house! There were lines just to get into some stores! My poor little brother got really bored. lol.

And speaking of City Creek, Uncle Dave was released during conference. I kind of guessed he'd be released, since City Creek was finished a week or so ago. He told us he'd stay until most of the downtown projects were completed, and City Creek was kind of the big project. It's weird, because he's been in that position for more than 15 years, I think. Sad to see him go, but he's done so much for Salt Lake City and the Church's welfare program.

The next couple of weeks are going to be pretty crazy. Jeff has a bunch of tests, then we head south to visit his grandparents for Easter. Two days after we return, Y Awards! (I'm almost done with everything! Just two more projects that are almost done.) Then the next week is graduation, my sister and brother-in-law move to Texas... And then I'll pretty much be working toward the start of volleyball season in the fall.

Today at work I told people we were planning to stay around for a couple of years. Everybody seemed pretty happy, which is good. :) I guess I've done well in my first year as a GA.
