Good food

Today I'm so grateful for good food. We had my friend Breena and her boyfriend over for pre-Thanksgiving dinner. I thought it would be light. So wrong. I'm stuffed. I don't ever want to eat again. lol. I put tons of herbs on top of the turkey roast (who knew there was such thing as a turkey roast?) and cut holes in it and stuffed garlic cloves and sage in the holes. The herbs on top were fresh thyme, rosemary and coriander seeds. Then I added some water, chicken bouillon cubes and lemon juice to the crock pot where I cooked the turkey. Yum.... I was going to do smashed potatoes, but they didn't cook fast enough. lol. And we had baguettes and cheese and green beans (not much special about them... just added savory and butter). We also had cranberry slush, which didn't really taste like cranberry at all, to my surprise...but was still tasty. Breena brought cranberry pomegranate juice to drink, though, which was yummy. And for dessert....pumpkin creme brulee. I really liked it, and I don't like pumpkin pie. This was light and creamy and the sugar crust (which didn't completely work, but still had a good crunch) was amazing. Everything I wish a pumpkin pie could be. Maybe our new family tradition will be pumpkin creme brulee instead of pumpkin pie. ;)

I'm grateful that our Sunday School lesson went well. It was great, because I didn't have to teach much. We had the class teach. :) Brilliant idea. Maybe someday I'll feel more confident about teaching....

That's about all I got for today. I'm going to slip into a food coma.... Remind me not to eat that much again. lol. Though, it wasn't quite as bad as after one of my French meals....
